Dampco Surveys
Dampco is a South Devon family business of 25 years standing. We work in harmony with clients – you want your problems solved and we do not want the hassle, or expense, of putting right any work covered by our long term guarantees.
SURVEY REGION. Newton Abbot, Torbay and South Hams. Chudleigh, Buckfastleigh, Ashburton, Dartmouth and Dawlish are also served.
REPORTS. We specialise in damp and timber treatment. The report will be factual, informative and offer the best advice with a competitive quotation.
CLIENTS? Lenders, buyers, home owners, landlords, letting agents, architects and estate agents are amongst our clientele.
CHARGES. Most of our surveys are free and a report will be presented if specialist problems are found. We offer professional advice and a fixed price quotation for specialist treatments. Charges, if any, are agreed before survey.
What surveys are free? Homes and flats, in our locality, surveyed at times to suit Dampco are free. We cover the area once a week so reports are only delayed if access is difficult for whatever reason.
What surveys will be charged? This is a commercial decision based on cost and likely outcomes….
Very large properties, houses far from our head office, houses with none specialist damp problems, urgent surveys etc. are chargeable. Refunds apply if work is carried out by Dampco.
Basement conversions are chargeable but professional fees are refunded if structural waterproofing is done by Dampco.
Tenants and house sellers are usually charged because they either have no budget or they want work done cheaply not well – we only quote proper rates for the services we offer.
Are reports free? When a free survey has been conducted and no specialist work is required we can offer to write a report but this will be chargeable (eg negative report needed by a bank )
SURVEYS NOT UNDERTAKEN? Where there is a dispute with another Property Care Association member we will not intercede. However we do rectify work done under a Guarantee Protection Insurance Policy.
